Description
Medieval copper alloy buckle and plate circa 13th century AD. 10.53 g, 39mm x 22mm. The buckle frame is D-shaped in plan with a central lip and is decorated with incised lines. The buckle plate is rectangular-shaped depicting a stylised Wyvern facing left, crosshatch decoration to the right with traces of gilt. Ref: For similar examples see: Medieval Artefacts-Nigel Mills.
